Beavers
Ages 5-7
Meetings
Beavers gather once a week at Glenview Presbyterian Church for 60 minutes of fun, structured activities. Meetings blend games and learning moments, giving youth a welcoming space to explore new ideas & make friends.
STEM and Crafts
Beavers explore creativity and problem-solving through projects like building and racing Beaver Buggies, baking, egg drops, or creating crafts they can take home and share.
Camping
Beavers enjoy one or two weekend camps each year with the other 56th Sections. These family-friendly adventures at GTA campgrounds introduce young children to outdoor living through hikes, campfires, and simple skills.
Fundraising
Beavers join group fundraisers like Apple Day, Christmas Tree sales, and the Fert ’n’ Dirt soil fundraiser, helping support camps and activities while learning teamwork and community spirit.
Hiking / Outings
Short evening hikes and local outings help Beavers connect with nature and their community. From park walks to visits to the Kortright Centre, these adventures give kids the chance to explore the outdoors and learn by doing.
Games
Beavers enjoy fun indoor and outdoor games at meetings, activities, and camps — from active team challenges to classic Scouting games that build friendships and cooperation.

No One Left Behind
The 56th will not turn away any youth wishing to be a part of Scouting due to financial constraints. Please contact the group if you are in this situation.
