Scouts

Ages 11-14

Meetings

Scouts meet weekly at Glenview Presbyterian Church for 90 minutes of youth-led activities. Meetings focus on leadership, skill-building, and planning upcoming adventures, with Scouts taking on more responsibility while still enjoying teamwork and fun.

STEM and Activities

Scouts take on challenges like building Scout Trucks, shelters, and survival projects, along with creative science and engineering experiments. They also mentor Cubs, strengthening both skills and leadership.

Camping

Scouts take part in 6–8 camps each year, from winter adventures around the GTHA to wilderness trips in Haliburton and Algonquin. They build independence through cooking, fire-building, and outdoor skills, and also join larger events such as international jamborees.

Fundraising

Scouts take an active role in supporting Apple Day, Christmas Tree sales, and Fert ’n’ Dirt. These events help fund camps and adventures while giving Scouts the chance to lead, organize, and give back to the community.

Hiking / Outings

Scouts take on longer hikes and outdoor challenges, from conservation projects and service work to city explorations and overnight treks. These adventures build resilience, leadership, and a deeper connection to the outdoors.

Skills and Leadership

Scouts build confidence by helping plan activities, mentoring Cubs, and taking on responsibilities at meetings, camps, and fundraisers. These experiences prepare them for bigger challenges in and out of Scouting.
